Optimedia is an indigenous Namibian film and video production company operating from Windhoek, Namibia. In almost a decade, Optimedia has garnered an impressive l roster of productions that has ranged from drama to documentaries and feature presentations and news inserts. Many of Optimedia's production has aired on the BBC, Reuters, SABC, Dutch TV and Namibia's national broadcast service; NBC.
Some notable works in the documentary genre includes "Speaking from the heart", "Mochiku" and "Sustaining our forest".  "Smooth talk" and "A helping hand" are some of Optimedia's most popular titles in the HIV/AIDS genre. The company has also produced numerous educational documentaries, promotionals and corporate video for various companies including Namcol, Ongwediva, SADC and the Zambezi Water Commission.

Optimedia is fully committed to the Black Economic Empowerment Policy. Beyond this, we are committed to Pan African ideals by collaborating with the SADC and other regions of Africa.
To ensure that optimedia remains on top of industry developments, Optimedia has formed partnerships with amongst others Television Trust for the Environment (TVE) in the UK, SACOD, FEPACI and Colours TV in the USA. Such partnerships have led to several co productions notable of which is the Africa Calling Series that was produced by Optimedia for the Channel 4 in the UK and was aired during the G8 conference in Scotland.

Creativity and an intensive research methodology is the hallmark of Optimedia's productions. By working with cutting edge technology and a visionary and creative staff, Optimedia remains at the forefront of quality motion picture storytelling that never fails to command attention and make a difference. Our vision is to contribute to Namibia and the region's development.

Optimedia has won several awards especially in the field of development communications and the most recent was the Stone Award at the 2006 Gecko Awards for the best documentary. The production was part of the campaign against Domestic Violence that was sponsored by UNICEF and NAMPOL.

Optimedia leads the way in development communication and has been working with various Civil Society organisations to produce films on development issues such as Health, Gender, Environment, Education and Development.

Using its local knowledge and expertise, Optimedia runs mobile video screenings in rural communities especially those without access to television and essential services to bring information and mobilise using film.

Optimedia recently successfully concluded a two and a half month long road show in collaboration with international Video Fair in Zimbabwe and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting covering seven regions across Northern and Central Namibia.

Optimedia has professional digital production and editing equipment that ensures that all our productions are delivered at international standard.
